You're Ulysses!

by James Joyce

Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared
to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do
understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once
brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in
the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you
additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

You're Cuba!

How bad can you really be?  So many people have said so many
bad things about you, but you know they can't all be true.  Not even most of them.
You went a little crazy for a while, but now you're just getting older and tired
of all the nasty stuff people think about you.  You could use a little more money
and you really wish people wouldn't keep leaving you for richer people, but other than
that, things aren't so bad.  You really like used military clothing.

I went to the dinner my old boss had for my old department, a celebration for another successfull "close" for the 3500 page catalog. It's been closed a couple months now but getting 25 people together can't be easy. Only two from the whole department were missing, one on purpose and one had a last minute child-care emergency.

We had our own room at the Weber Grill restaurant where we had a few drinks, appetizers, salad, our choice of chicken, beef, or fish, and then coffee and dessert. We were there from 5-10pm with a room to ourselves and two very good servers. It was a very pleasant evening, and I enjoyed it as it gave me a chance to chat with former co-workers.

I went to see a sneak preview of "Starsky & Hutch" Saturday night. It was cute, Snoop Dogg as Huggy Bear was the best part of the movie, with Vince Vaughn's villian (and his mustache) running a close second. They got the clothes right which is all I personally remember, I never watched the show but there were pictures in the school magazines. My friend said Ben Stiller pretty much had Paul Michael Glazer down.
